Prepare for testing
We need access to the installation. Tell us about critical equipment and acceptable power interruptions.
What you receive
A report recording the findings, with an explanation of classifications and any action needed.
Reading your report

01
Who EICRs are for
EICRs are used across rented property, owner occupied homes, commercial premises and other workplaces. The reason for the inspection can vary. It may be part of a legal duty, planned maintenance, a property transaction or a wider review of electrical condition.
02
What the inspection looks at
Condition of accessible electrical equipment and distribution arrangements
Protective measures and circuit protection
Evidence of damage, deterioration or unsuitable alterations
Test results for the circuits within the agreed scope
Observations that require action or further investigation
03
Understanding observation codes
EICR observations may use classification codes to describe the seriousness of a finding. C1 identifies danger present. C2 identifies a potentially dangerous condition. C3 identifies an improvement recommendation. FI identifies a need for further investigation. The report outcome depends on the findings recorded.
C1Danger present
C2Potentially dangerous
C3Improvement recommended
FIFurther investigation
04
Clear findings and next steps
A report is more useful when the person receiving it understands what the observations mean. Certivo explains the findings in practical terms and can discuss remedial work where action is required.
05
Before the inspection
Access to distribution boards, electrical equipment and relevant parts of the property may be needed. Some testing can require circuits to be isolated for short periods. If the site has critical equipment or access restrictions, tell us during booking so the inspection can be planned appropriately.
